In short, this paper contributes to the discussion about the characteristics, meaning, cultural differences, factors of color words. The color of nature is colorful, but the differences between eastern and western cultures, sometimes meaning of words corresponds to the color, and sometimes do not correspond, so color words should be treated differently in the translation of the idioms. To master color English idioms, it is better to have a more profound understanding of western culture and applied language more vividly. Although the number of color words is limited, color idioms with distinct ethnic identity and the name of common human culture, reflect the different people's cultural psychology, aesthetic taste and fashion of the time. However, we should see, while the symbolic colors of different cultures are in social development, history of sedimentation in the convention is a relatively stable cultural phenomenon. But with the continuous development of history, understanding the human experience of color also gradually chang color words in it to gain new symbolism. With the constant exchange of Chinese and western cultures, cultural convergence and integration of the trend have become increasingly clear and people's understanding of foreign culture, identity and acceptance are constantly enhancing. I believe our understanding of the cultural connotation of the colors will be more successful in cross-cultural communication. In brief, as English learners, the more we learn about the cultural differences in English and Chinese idioms, the better we can understand and utilized them.
