Abstract:Throughout the United States history, women have long been regarded as servants to men. They can’t have personal property, voting right and even freedom. What could they do is only to be good wives and good mothers. That situation has not changed until the Women’s Movement broke up. After it, women play more and more important roles in society.
This thesis mainly focuses on the cause and achievement of the Women’s Movement and its influence, which alternate the views of women on family and marriage. Compare with the views on family and marriage in the early American history, the essay highlights the transition of modern women’s role in family and marriage.
