Abstract:The purpose of this paper is to discusse some teaching methods which may be of some help to the teaching of English vocabulary. The author divides it into two parts, the first part concerns the theory Levels of Processing which includs:Teaching vocabulary by etymology,teaching vocabulary by morphology,teaching vocabulary by association,and teaching vocabulary by Context. The second part concerns Ebbinghaus’ theory which puts forward the strategy of consolidating the vocabulary. It should be noted that the teacher should help students become independent learners in and out of class, and apply the indirect teaching method to the teaching of vocabulary.

中文摘要:本论文的目的是对英语词汇教学的方法进行了一些研讨,笔者把词汇教学分为两部分:一,通过 “加工层次理论”教学法,引出了利用词源教词汇,利用构词法教词汇,通过联想教词汇,和联系语境教词汇;二,通过艾宾浩斯遗忘曲线,我们知道,每个人都避免不了遗忘,但同时告诉我们,遗忘是有规律的,我们可以通过系统的复习,达到长时记忆,所以通过“巩固”教学法,帮助学生自主学习和引出间接教学法。
