Abstract:Environment plays a crucial role in English learning. Good language environment offers a stimulus to the learners. Environmental factors can be divided into two types: macro environmental factors and micro environmental factors. They also can be categorized into internal environment and external environment. This thesis examined sixty non-English majors at YXNU (Yuxi Normal University) about teaching environmental factors influencing their English learning. It is found that there are still many problems in English teachers’ quality, course setting and teaching, teaching ways and campus English learning environment. In addition, ten non-English majors were interviewed in terms of problems influencing their English grades and found that these problems are influencing their grades of English. Based on the findings, the author has put forward some specific suggestions which may be useful for college English learning and teaching at YXNU.

摘要:环境影响着英语学习者的学习效果,好的语言环境能够刺激学习者。环境因素可以分为宏观环境因素和微观环境因素,也可以分为校内环境因素和校外环境因素等。本文重点研究了教学环境因素。本文就影响非英语专业的教学环境因素对六十名非英语专业学生进行了问卷调查,发现在教师素质、课程设置及教学、教学手段以及校园英语学习环境四个方面仍然存在很多问题。为了找出影响非英语专业学生英语成绩的问题,作者同时采访了十名非英语专业学生,发现这些问题影响着学生的英语学习成绩。基于此研究的发现,作者针对四个方面提出了一些具体的建议,以此对xx学院的大学英语教学改革提出一些建议。
