Abstract:Communicative competence is a linguistic term for the ability not only to apply the grammatical rules of a language to form correct utterances, but to know when to use these utterances appropriately. It includes grammatical competence, sociolinguistic competence, discourse competence, strategic competence. It has become widely accepted that communicative competence should be the target of the English Class, while in rural areas the senior students are comparatively poor at communication skills. This paper aims at finding the limitations of training the students’ communicative competence in rural area, and attempts to put forward proposals to make the class more active and improve the students’ communicative competence in English class. To get accurate data and current situation of students communicative competence in rural area, questionnaire and classroom observation are taken in this survey. And this paper analyses factors of the social environment, students' opinions, proficiency of students' English and teachers. According to these findings, this paper gives some suggestions to improve the teaching and learning conditions and bring out the best of teaching and studying.

中文摘要:交际能力不仅是一种语言的话语形式的使用符合正确的语法规则,而且还要明白使用符合情境的言论。它包括了语法能力,社会语言学能力,语篇能力和策略能力。交际能力是语言教学的重点,现在已被广泛接受。然而,在农村地区, 英语学生的交际技巧和能力都还比较欠缺,形势不容乐观。本文旨在寻找农村地区培养学生交际能力的限制因素,并试图提出建议,以此来改善农村中学生英语交际能力的水平。通过调查问卷和课堂观摩,获得准确的数据和全面了解学生的英语交际能力的现状。从社会环境,学校,老师和学生等多个角度进行了全面分析,发现问题,提出对策,使英语交际能力在教学中得到改善,促进农村地区英语教学水平的提高,实现教学相长。
