Abstract:Reading is one of the most important skills for the third-year senior high school students in the English learning. Moreover, the specific teaching objectives have been stated out clearly in the new National English Curriculum (2001) for the third-year senior high school students on prompting reading proficiency. Therefore, improving English reading efficiency becomes the main task in English teaching of the third-year students. However, it is likely that the students are often troubled with some reading problems in their reading. Thus, this paper is designed to investigate and analyze reading problems, which exist and greatly influence the third-year students, reading efficiency of Jingdong No.2 Senior High School. From the investigation, some main reading problems have been found, such as shortage of vocabulary, inadequate mastery of grammar, deficiency of some skills to analyze the sections and chapters, lack of some related stylistic knowledge, and use of some bad reading habits. Furthermore, this paper provides some advice to solve these reading problems. On one hand, students need pay more attention to how to choose reading materials and learn to use some common and useful reading skills. On the other hand, teachers should teach students how to use the reading skills and make them see the way they read.

摘要:对于高三年级学生来说,阅读是英语学习中一项非常重要的技能。国家新《英语课程标准》(2001)针对培养和提高高中学生的阅读效率提出了具体的教学目标要求。因此,提高学生的阅读效率已成为高三年级英语教学中的一项重要任务。然而,在学生的阅读过程中仍然存在许多问题。本论文对景东二中高三年级学生存在的阅读问题做了调查分析发现,他们的阅读问题主要表现在:词汇积累不够、语法知之甚少、缺乏分析语篇关系的技巧、缺乏相关的文体知识和一些不良阅读习惯的存在,而这些问题严重影响了他们对文章的理解和阅读效率的提高。因此,本论文针对这些阅读问题给出了一些相应的解决建议:一方面,学生应该学会选择阅读的材料和正确使用阅读技巧;另一方面,教师应该教会学生如何正确使用阅读技巧。
