ABSTRACT
-With the rapid development of economy, the proportion of education in the overall national strength is becoming more and more prominent, and the differences between Chinese and American higher education is more and more obvious, the two countries have also opened in the concept of higher education. Both countries have advantages and disadvantages in their higher education, they opened to each other and adopt those advanced ideas from each other that make great contributions to the development of national higher education. This paper reviews the differences from the perspective of intercultural communication. The main differences between American and Chinese higher education are the administrative system, teaching methods, teaching courses, teaching evaluation and moral education. This article provides an overview of these differences and summarizes the author's own experiences of studying abroad.

It mainly expounds the definition and function of culture and a brief introduction to intercultural communication. Second, the present situation of higher education in China and America. As Chinese higher education has developed for nearly fifty years, its speed and achievements are very great in the history of higher education development in China. With the development of higher education in the United States, it has become the driving force for the rapid development of economy, society and science and technology. Third, the difference of higher education between China and America. This part mainly compared the educational system, teacher-student relationship and other aspects of higher education. Fourth, the comparison of educational ideas. It mainly talks about the concept of examination oriented education in China and the individual education concept in America. Fifth, the status of Chinese students in America, focused on the living conditions of international students. Sixth, the outlook of higher education in China and America in twenty-first century. Seventh, conclusion.
