ABSTRACT
After entering the 20th century, with the development of suburb, decentralization and more than one center’s pattern have became the main trend of city’s development, in other word it’s called metropolitanization or newly urbanization.
Chicagi is the 3rd largest city in America, it was a typical city that concentrated in the industrial development. From it’s development progress, in 1950s century, it was a industrial city which was concentrate on the manufacturing industry. After reforming management style, diversified development strategy, pay more attention to developing the cultural industry and improving soft power. Finally, Chicago successfully made city’s transformation. At the same time, the diversity of immigrants, short historical background provided the opportunity to develop the multi-culture in Chicago in terms of cuisines, architectures, cultural facilities and cultural activities .
This essay will introduce the concept of cultural diversity and it’s relativity and then, it will elicit the “Multiculturalism” in America and it’s nature. The cultural industry is a big part of American economic development, this essay mainly introduce the movie industry through using some chart and table to make some comparison and anaysis. Chicago is a city which has obivious multi-cultural feature, because the multi-culture promote Chicago’s city transformation. The final chart will introduce the “cultural power” and Chicago’s foods, immigrants, population, architectures’ effects.
