Abstract
Amy Tan's novels, including The Bonesetter's Daughter, have been studied in various ways, but very little has been done from the perspective of the male images in them. The present thesis aims to study the male images in The Bonesetter's Daughter by analyzing their nationalities (living circumstance), appearances, personalities, representative activities, life experiences (personal fate), etc. Through such analysis in this book, the thesis reveals how feminism has influenced Amy Tan, a Chinese American female writer. The thesis discovers the hidden causes for the creation of those male images that are generally negative, offering another approach to understand the author's motivation.
