Abstract
In The Joy Luck Club, Amy Tan describes the conflicts between the Chinese mothers and their Americanized daughters to show us different family education, family lifestyle, etc. At last, the two different family educations merge together. Nowadays, high-speed social development needs high qualified talents and good family education is the key point to the high qualified talents. With the rapid development of globalization, more contacts require an effective way of communication to narrow the gap between different two family educations, different two cultures. In addition, Chinese families have become increasingly concerned about the all-round development of their children, and therefore place more emphases on how they as families educate their children. This thesis consists of three parts. The first one is the Introduction, which mainly introduces the background of the novel and literature review. Then the second part is the body, which includes three chapters: the conflicts between mothers and daughters, the compatibility and the hidden causes. The third part is the conclusion. Consequently, in this thesis, by analyzing what are the conflicts and why they have conflicts, through systematic study of The Joy Luck Club, I would like to dissect the main causes of cultural conflicts and find proper ways in blending family educations.
