Abstract
Greetings, as one of the frequently used words in daily life, play an important role in social communication. As the Han and Uighur nationality live together in the big family from ancient times, and the integration of language mixed together, there arises a lot of similarities in the two different languages. With the progress of the society and the global integration, English has gradually makes step to people’s life. Learning English has become an important threshold to everything. For foreign language learners, the basic point of learning a foreign language is to start with a polite greeting. This dissertation is about the comparison of Chinese, Uighur and English greetings, compare the similarities and differences, as well as the use of examples to illustrate. In any language learning studying, the most basic greetings in the language can be found in the role of cultural customs. The dissertation have more profound understanding of learning in Chinese, Uighur and English.
