Abstract
Language is a tool of human communication, any language learning should grasp its foundation, for English, it is based on listening, speaking, reading and writing. Listening and speaking abilities are the basic training for English learners. In the English teaching of primary school, we need to pay special attention to listening and speaking training. As an enlightenment of foreign language teaching in the elementary school English teaching, which impact on learners' learning and development in the future. We can conclude that we should proceed from listening and speaking, make the child imitate on the basis of listening, and then speak them out, so that express them fluently in the English learning process.
This essay is from the theory to practice. It starts with the theory of building up the students’ listening and speaking skills. The author attempts to make an essay of the existing problems as well as the reasons, so as to come up with a series of suggestion and teaching strategies which are improving the efficiency of the listening and speaking teaching.
