Abstract
In Pride and Prejudice, Jane Austen describes different attitudes of Bennett's daughters to the problem of marriage and love, showing people’s pursuit of wealth, money, and status in the context of capitalist society has been flooded. Austen depicts a clever, brave, independent classic female image - Elizabeth. Through the description of Elizabeth, the author expresses her own unique view on marriage and love: the economic basis is as important as love , but love is above material elements. She also highlights her consciousness of female independence. This thesis makes new analysis of different views on marriage in the novel and gives some suggestions and inspirations for the modern young people.
