Abstract
At present, English reading comprehension ability of elementary school is more and more concerned, so the implementation of strategy and skills are extremely important, it is the key to cultivate students’ reading comprehension ability. To cultivate students’ reading comprehension ability is a gradual and complicated process, which must be taken from the beginning of school. When the process of teaching, the teachers should choose the suitable material for elementary school students to read, stimulate interests in reading, guide correct reading methods, develop good reading habits. And from sentences to paragraph, paragraph to article understanding should be completed by careful reading. Cultivating students’ reading comprehension ability is one of the goals of English teaching. From linguistics, psychology, sociology, pedagogy and the perspective of the current research scholars analyzed the current lack of pupils in reading comprehension and its causes, and to some effective ways to improve students’ reading.
