Abstract
Lord of the Flies is a controversial and seminal novel written by William Golding, who is the famous English writer. Although the novel has been suffering from various kinds of criticism, however, as a classic novel of 20th literature, no one doubts its outstanding position, and it help William golden get the Nobel Prize of literature in 1983.
The dissertation interprets the novel from the perspective of ecocriticIsm following the criticism and mainly interpret the natural ecology, social ecology and spiritual ecology of the isolated island to further explore the relationship between man and man, man and nature,man and society and man and himself.We can see the Golding’s desire to return to nature and his scourge of anthropocentrism and his irony to scientific power.The analysis will let people realize the importance of the harmonious development between man and nature.
