Abstract
Relevance Theory, as a powerful cognitive and communicative theory, has widely applied and validly supported the world’s most complex mission translation. A large number of scholars have studied in translation theory and practice from the perspective of relevance Theory and have made enormous achievements. Nevertheless, some have ignored the cultural default in translation, and even doubted the great power of theory in dealing with the cultural context. This thesis is to discuss the impacts of relevance and analyze the cultural default with examples illustrated. It also puts forward some efficient methods to perfect the theory and for a better understanding.
