Abstract
The relevance theory studies the communicative action from the cognitive perspective, while the verbal communication is a process. In the process of communication, both sides need to rely on the guidance of relevance and context of choice, to achieve a smooth communication. According to relevance theory, translation is a kind of verbal communication behavior, which is closely related to reasoning. The key is to find the best relevance of discourse. In the context of the language, people use language to communicate in a real environment, it is the understanding and use of language, is an important factor in the dissemination of results.
News is an important to understand the national politics and economies, especially the financial news’s importance of people’s lives. And translation is a necessary way to spread the news of the world. It can send the latest information in the shortest possible time to the audience worldwide. The information function of news and the characteristics of news language determine the importance of news research and news translation. News translation itself also has a direct impact on the exchange of information. Due to the special nature of the financial news, the context of the special needs to be paid attention to in the news translation. They work together to influence and determine the translation of financial news. This paper mainly studies and analyzes the role of context in financial news translation from the perspective of relevance theory.
