Abstract
With the development of economic globalization, culture tends to globalize. However, the differences among languages affect the procedure of cultural transmission. Every country and even every region has its own essence of culture. If one wants to understand interdisciplinary culture in one area or in one times, the translation cannot be ignored and the translated texts are of great importance. Domestication and Foreignization are studied in this paper to make people know different presentation in different cultures, and at the same time people will know more about Tess of the D’Urbervilles. In this paper, the author analyzed the relationship between Tess of the D’Urbervilles and its translated version from the perspective of Domestication and Foreignization and their influences. In this paper, the author studied literature translation through learning Domestication and Foreignization, analyzed the question whether we should use Domestication or Foreignization in the translation and finally drew a conclusion that we should choose different translation strategies according to different themes in the process of translation.
