Abstract
Oranges Are Not the Only Fruit tells a story about the heroine Jeanette, an evangelist who receives evangelical education and determines to be an outstanding missionary at an early age. Jeanette bravely accepts and admits her homosexual sexuality as she grows up. Meantime, she refuses to yield to the anti-homosexual oppression from the group comprised of her mother and the pastor. At last, she grows into a mature and firm female.
This paper is to analyze Jeanette’s evangelical belief in her growth process to show her courageous and strong character, which is worth learning for the teenagers in the course of life.
