Abstract:Under the influence of the trend of internationalization in our country, school education also pay more and more attention to English education. Listening is the key part of English study, but due to its own characteristics, many English learners feel it’s difficult to learn well. Also, the result of domestic English teaching is not very optimistic. As we all known, high school period is key period for domestic education, senior grade one as a cohesion for students from junior high school to senio high school period is a crucial period. In addition, learning strategies play an important role in the process of language learning and reasonable use of learning strategies can enhance students’ learning ability and confidence. Therefore, this paper hope to find some methods to help senior English listening teaching by the investigation and analysis of findings.
This paper makes a questionnaire survey in148 students under the instruction of the theory of learning strategy, and analyze their listening grades. Then it find that the most frequently used strategies employed by students is met cognitive strategy, then is cognitive strategy and the last is affective strategy,the most frequently used strategy employed by high-score students is cognitive strategy, then is met cognitive strategy and the last is affective strategy,and the frequency of using listening strategies in high- score group is much higher than low-score group’s.
In the end, according to the result of survey, this paper provides some suggestions for teaching and learning of English for first grades students of senior high school.
