Abstract:Vocabulary is the basis of learning a language. Chinese students are supposed to grasp at least 3000 to 3500 English vocabularies as they graduate from Senior School However, a large number of students have hard time learning vocabularies while some schools ignore the vocabulary teaching.This essay is based on a vocabulary learning research.After one month’s word formation teaching,I did a research on students’ vocabulary learning and interest. Data shows that word formation can make students get more interested in vocabulary learning and help them learn in a more effective way. The teaching of word formation has effect on both the students’ vocabulary learning interest and their vocabulary learning achievements. .
