Abstract
May 2010, Working Conference of the CPC Central Committee defined Kashgar as a Special Economic Zone,this brought Kashgar an unprecedented opportunity of foreign commerce and trade. At the same time, the high school teaching of many schools in Kashgar began to convert their teaching model from bilingual teaching(based on the Uyghur-Chinese teaching) into the Trilingual education(Uyghur-Chinese-English teaching).
This paper tries to approach the current situation and the development of high school English teaching in Kashgar mainly from four parts. In order to give a general introduction to the present situation and development of high school English teaching in Kashgar, this thesis first introduces the present situation by analyzing the questionnaire. After having a better understanding of the present situation,we move to the definitions of some relevant concepts. Then we analyze the the origin of the encountered problems, and at last the corresponding recommendations to the encountered problem brings the thesis to its main concern. This paper is based on sampling survey of the situation of English teaching in high schools in Kashgar ethnic minority areas.
