Abstract
China education system includes 9 curriculum, they are Chinese, Mathematics, English, Politics, Geography, History, Biography, Chemistry and Physics. English, as one of the three major fundamental curriculums, has great influence on students’ development. Through English study, students can broaden their horizon, cultivate the innovation ability and cross-cultural communication ability, improve the international competitiveness of our country. English teaching, in addition to textbooks, should also actively develop the use of resources of other courses, such as English News. Therefore, it is worthwhile to research on the subject of English teaching and research.
In this paper, the author introduces the characteristics of English News from the wording, the context, content style, and expounds the positive significance of the use of English News in English teaching. Especially for high school students, English News teaching is more practical. By using questionnaire survey, interview, the author investigate the English News teaching method of the senior high school in China school, and the students’ comments and suggestions on the English News Teaching. And then the author analyzes the data, draws the conclusion. Finally, the author integrates her own opinion as well as the majority of teachers’ and students’ opinions and suggestions; put forward the feasible, comprehensive and effective English News teaching methods for senior high school students in China.
