Abstract
It is significant for middle school students to learn vocabulary well, and the study of vocabulary has even become a weak point in middle school nowadays. Under this circumstance, as an effective teaching methodology, Lexical Chunks Approach has been used more widely recently. This paper is established in the application of Lexical Chunks in middle school English teaching, in order to relieve the weakness of vocabulary learning. This paper elucidates the theoretical origin and the definition of Lexical Chunks Approach; the current situation of the application of Lexical Chunks in middle school English teaching. It also mainly summarizes the application in writing and the significance of Lexical Chunks Approach. In the end, I make a discussion on the limitation of Lexical Chunks Approach.
