ABSTRACT
As a great representative of the British Romantic poets, Wordsworth loved and worshiped nature and wrote a large number of poems to praise nature. However, he was not only a poet of nature, he was also concerned about people and paid attention to the relationship between man and nature as well as the inner world of human beings. In this paper, the theory of ecocriticism will be employed to analyze Wordsworth’s poetry from the aspects of natural ecology, social ecology and spiritual ecology. The gap between man and nature, the indifference between man and man, the corruption of man’s spirit are revealed and then the ecological implications of returning to nature is put forth.
