ABSTRACT
Moon Palace by contemporary American writer Paul Auster, tells us a story about Marco Fogg’s strange experience when American astronauts landed on the moon and where there is a Chinese restaurant named “Moon Palace.” With the help of conceptual blending theory, this thesis firstly explores the significance of the Chinese restaurant Moon Palace for Fogg’s physical and mental growth; secondly it argues that the Chinese restaurant Moon Palace is Fogg’s Garden of Eden rather than America itself since people become indifferent there though its science and technology is developed. In a word, this research aims to embody the superiority for Chinese dream to American Dream.
