Abstract: Vocabulary plays a basic part in language learning. The author studies the overall trend, similarities and differences of Vocabulary Learning Strategies applications among non-English majors who passed CET-4 or CET-6. The study aims to raise learners' awareness of the importance of vocabulary learning strategies. The thesis draws the following conclusions: 1. Non-English majors adopt numerous vocabulary learning strategies. The most three frequently adopted strategies are contextualization, use of dictionary and guessing strategies. 2. There is a significant difference in the use of overall vocabulary strategies between CET-4 and CET-6 passers. 3. CET-6 passers use vocabulary learning strategies more extensively than CET-4 passers.
