Abstract: This thesis aims to explore the way of applying Situational Approach to English grammar teaching in junior high school. Based on the theory of Situational Approach, the author analyzes the current situations of English grammar teaching in junior high school at first. Then, according to the Oxford English books for junior high school students, the author presents a variety of situations created in three stages of grammar teaching, and combines them with teaching purposes of each stage in PPP (presentation, practice and production) model. The result indicates that Situational Approach develops students’ ability to communicate with others in different situations, arouses students’ interest in learning English grammar and enhances the efficiency of grammar teaching. The paper concludes that while applying Situational Approach to grammar teaching, teachers should notice the authenticity and creativity of situations.
