Abstract: Person deixis mainly consist of personal pronouns. The violation of the pre-emptive usage of personal pronouns is called anti-preemptive usage. The unconventional choice and appliance of person deixis show abundant pragmatic meanings and artistic charm. The Bible is a giant corpus as a classic and historical literary work. There are many language materials in it containing anti-preemptive usages of person deixis. On the basis of formal research findings, this paper will make a rearrangement and statistic analysis of the different anti-preemptive usages existing in the Bible. At the same time, this text tries to explore the specific expressional methods of person deixis by studying typical language examples. Then special pragmatic functions caused by these unconventional usages would be found and the purposes of communications would be clear.
