Abstracts: As the Chinese pioneers of spreading the translations of Chinese classical books to foreign countries, Ku Hwengming and D.C.Lau respectively translated Lun-Yu into the English versions of Analects of Confucius between 1898 and 1979. A lot of researchers at home and abroad spent much time studying Analects of Confucius from all angles. Then, this paper explores the roots of those from self-center, dynamic role and passivity. It concludes that the translations are influenced by three factors in subjectivity of translator and different translators’ subjectivity is controlled by epochal influence, ideological influence and roots of stylistic tendencies.
