Abstract
Successful intercultural communication is the prerequsite for the peace of the world, in which communicator is the bridge across the cultural distance. To satisfy the need for smooth intercultural communication, communicators are required to be of bilingual ability, acquainted with various cultures, and capable of understanding communication context properly.-
Based on the case analysis of pragmatic failures in daily intercultural communication discourse, this thesis mainly elaborates the importance of communicator’s intercultural pragmatic competence, and also it points out that communicator can improve his or her pragmatic competence of intercultural communication constantly in daily life by developing intercultural communication awareness, deep insight into cultures, and comprehensive perception to communication context.
