Abstract
In recent years, with the rapid development of technology and information, mobile learning has aroused great attention and been popular among the public. For this new mode of learning, many education experts have conducted certain researches on the platform of English mobile learning, the design of English learning system and the research on English learning interest. However, mobile learning and English vocabulary are rarely combined by researchers. Accordingly, the purpose of the study is to use mobile learning instruments such as WeChat to study English vocabulary and find out what impact this learning mode would have on English majors.
Based on the investigation of vocabulary learning of 60 English-major students in Xuzhou Institute of Technology who are divided into two groups---the experimental group and the control group, the research is to testify the effectiveness of mobile learning of English vocabulary by comparing the learning results in two modes of learning--- mobile learning and paper-printed learning. To begin with, the paper introduces the background, purposes, significance and organization of the research. Chapter Two provides the literature review on mobile learning and vocabulary learning and some theoretical rationales focused on. Chapter Three puts emphasis on the whole process and the result of the research. And finally, a brief conclusion is drawn for the paper.
