Abstract:The subtitle translation of films and TV series is a new branch of translation. The translation strategies of subtitles and the information of cross-cultural communication are gradually attracting more and more scholars to pay attention to the study of subtitle translation.
The subtitle translation is involved in the spread of films and TV series, so it’s a kind of mass communication. This thesis analyzes the process of subtitle translation under the framework of Braddock’s 7W Model theory from the perspective of communication and brings forward some relevant translation strategies.
This paper tries to integrate the 7W Model into the translation process of the subtitles, and find that the seven major elements of the 7W Model should not be neglected in the translation process. Then this paper explores the effects that the characteristics of seven elements in 7W Model have on the subtitle translation through a case study on the TV series Revenge. The author draws a conclusion that the translator should use some strategies like domestication, foreignization, ostension, and concentration with the communication model in his translation work, and make every effort to let the target language audience enjoy the authentic works as the source language audience did.

摘要:影视字幕翻译是一个新兴的翻译领域,有关字幕翻译的策略及其信息的跨文化传播的研究在当前全球化的发展趋势下逐渐引起众多学者的关注。
字幕翻译参与了影视艺术的传播,所以它是大众传播的一种。本文将从传播学的角度,用布雷多克的7W传播过程模式分析影视字幕翻译过程可能会出现的障碍,并进而提出相应的翻译策略。
本文试着将影视字幕翻译过程融入到7W传播模式图中,研究结果发现7大要素在翻译过程中的都是不可忽视的考虑因素。然后以美国电视剧《复仇》的字幕汉译为例探讨了7W模式中7个要素的特点带给字幕翻译的影响,认为译者要围绕传播模式过程,使用归化、异化、明示、缩减等有效的翻译策略,努力使目的语受众能像原语观众一样欣赏到原汁原味的作品。
