Abstract:Recently, Task-based-teaching Method was paid close attention. In Task-based Teaching Method the purpose of the lesson is to finish the task successfully. Task-Based Teaching is one kind of class activity which treats target as guide, and learners as center. There are many researches which indicate that Task-Based Teaching Method can play an important role in improving the learning ability of learners, cultivating the study interests of learners and develop the comprehensive quality of students. In order to help the students in junior high school to improve their reading ability, the traditional methods of teaching should be changed. Nowadays, in the primary and middle school, English teachers are encouraged to use more meaningful activities to teaching reading lessons. This paper thesis introduced the theory of teaching reading, the pattern of reading and the application of Task-Based Teaching method in junior middle school English Reading Teaching. Besides, the thesis also introduced the application of Task-Based Teaching Method in different countries, and the design principle and basic mode of Task-Based Teaching Method. With the theory we applied and the test we made, we found that Task-Based Teaching Method can make a positive influence on the junior middle school reading class.
